Re: "Please Wait" message followed by Access Denied to BackuRestore

I am still waiting for assistance. I purchased this module.

I doubled checked several times with ixwebhosting (my hosting company). The Root Folder has Read, Write permissions. Besides, dnn is in a sub-directory to the root folder. I have full control of this directory and set it to full permissions. I created "BackupRestore" myself in this sub-directory and gave it Read, Write.

I am still having the above posted "Please Wait...followed by Access Denied to "BackupRestore"

I am running DNN 4.8, clean install

If i checked "files" only, the message says "Please Wait.......Done" .  This message gives the impression that files backup doesn't get any access error like when i checked both "database" and "files"....but nothing is happening even when i try to backup the files only.

What on Earth is going on.......this module is driving me crazy.

I am expecting the support team for this module to respond

thanks

Re: "Please Wait" message followed by Access Denied to BackuRestore

I have the same problem, but only when running the restore with my new host.

My new hosting provider also use H-Sphere. Snour, did you find out how to set directory permissions? I believe the problem might be that you also need to set Delete priveledges.

/Eirik

Re: "Please Wait" message followed by Access Denied to BackuRestore

Snour,

The Access denied error only means that your IIS worker process account doesnt have enought permissions to create a DatabaseBackup.xml file. Not sure what permissions you have set, please validate that IIS worker process account (lested under Host/Settings in DNN) does have appropriate access rights, as spcified in documentation.

Re: "Please Wait" message followed by Access Denied to BackuRestore

Eric,

IIS worker thread account needs to have FULL access rights to /BackupRestore folder. Please validate that account listed under Host's setting has those permissions.

Re: "Please Wait" message followed by Access Denied to BackuRestore

Support,

I have called many times my hosting company (which is ixwebhosting. They use H-Sphere). They keep teling me the root directory under which my dnn directory is located has full access. They say sub-directory inherit same permissions. To be hones, i have some doubts on how these guys sounded. They sounded they have no idea they are talking about. But that is another story.

anyways, under host settings of DNN, i see 2 Permissions only: ReflectionPermission, WebPermission.

Were you referring to these permissions? Is that enough for the backup module to work.

In additions, i was able to go the H-Sphere control, Under "Web Options" I was able to add the backupRestore and gave it Read, Write. But that didn't change anything.
